How did your training look like when you started with K1-Training?

Hey I am 22years old M and started K1-Training 3 weeks ago. It is at a club where I pay monthly and I visit the course once a week. I am a complete beginner and I have 0 experience with combat sports so I also dont know what is typical for course design.

My problem is that I always participate in the course, and (logically) I don't know how I'm supposed to stand correctly, what certain strokes are called, or how to execute them. Last time, we had to practice a few stroke sequences (I assume that's what they're called), and it was difficult for me because, firstly, I'm seeing most of these things for the first time, and secondly, I don't know how to execute them, and thirdly, I usually forget the order because I need to think about how to do the first strike. The instructor only ever briefly checks in and corrects me, and only ever makes minor adjustments. Later, he told me I should just pay close attention, which I do, but it's not that I'm not paying attention; it's just that it's extremely difficult for me. There are 1 or 2 guys training there which sometimes take me as a partner and explain things to me. But this guys aren´t trainers and it makes me feel a bit bad because they lose training time because auf me.

My questions now are: How did your first courses look like? Is it normal that I need to learn some things at home? Or should my trainers take some time where they seperate me from the group and explain the basic stuff to me?

Ty for help.
