turning 18 years old as a US citizen in the philippines

hello!! i'm a US citizen but was born & raised here in the PH (got US citizenship because of parent). i turned 18 recently and from what i heard from my parents, i need to submit bank account (for social security) and transcript of records (for "proof of education") at the us embassy. we have an appointment scheduled for next month because apparently i need to be physically there and i'm assuming i'll be interviewed? has anyone gone through this process or has a relative that they know who has (or atleast something similar — the point is having to go to the US embassy once they turn 18) and what should i expect to happen? my parents aren't really sure of what's going to happen so they cant answer my questions hahahahaha
