AGE GAP!!!!!

The link I pasted was the much needed post, considering how everyone is behaving like they own someone else’s life choices. I’m 22 and according to these idiots I can’t choose my partner, I can’t have sex and I can’t be in relationships. My question is who are they to decide an adult’s life choices???
The age-gap criticism made sense and was so good when people were pointing out literally problematic gaps like 16x36 or 18x44. But now? 22x29??? 20x26???? Where the hell is the problem in that? Dude, both are adults for God’s sake. Until and unless both adults are entering the relationship with each other’s consent, who the hell are you to decide their life choices???

Bullies?

Two different posts, two different ids but with the exact same screenshot. And mind you, the screenshot itself is not the problem here. The actual problem is that the first OP (pizzaadept) who talked about this was in the first screenshot, and that post was removed by the moderators because it was misleading and broke several subreddit rules.

Now, after days, the second OP (fixplenty—) posted the exact same thing with the same screenshot, discussing the exact same scenario. Basically, both OPs were questioning the author for claiming that her book is non-fiction. Meanwhile, in the very first post, other users had already clarified that she never claimed her book was non-fictional. She was only talking about a specific part shown in the book that was not fictional but it was a reality, but someone took it out of context, posted it on Reddit, and falsely claimed that the author was saying her whole book was non-fiction. It was already discussed before, yet this OP, Fixplenty9836, posted the same misleading thing again. And honestly, I can’t even understand where the hell she got the exact same screenshot from lol because the first post was deleted and if she took it earlier when the post wasn’t deleted so she knows that this topic has been discussed so basically she’s fishy from both sides. Lol

But that’s not even my main problem. My problem is that when I called her out under that post, she literally BLOCKED me.

Isn’t that unfair, darling? Because you expect to freely criticize others, but the moment someone corrects you, you block them? Right?

Funny how outrage suddenly goes selective.

Let me be clear. Evil has no gender. And neither does accountability.

To Every Dark Romance Reader and Writer, we need to have an honest conversation.

Dark romance as a genre is not the problem. Exploring dark themes through fiction is valid. Literature has always been a space to process complicated, even disturbing human experiences. That is the beauty of storytelling.

But something has quietly gone wrong inside this genre and nobody wants to say it out loud.

When a male character is possessive, controlling or violent, the book community drags him. Readers write essays. People debate whether the book should even exist. The male villain gets dissected from every angle. And it *should* happened. This is the best thing we can do.

But why selective?

Because when a female character does the same thing or worse, the book gets five star reviews calling her “iconic” and “a queen who does not apologize.”

That is the double standard living inside fiction right now.

Fiction shapes how we think. When we only hold male characters accountable for violence and obsession while romanticizing the exact same traits in female characters, we are not being progressive. We are just flipping the bias. And a flipped bias is still a bias.

A possessive killer is not a romantic lead. Regardless of gender. Regardless of how beautiful the writing is. Regardless of how much the fandom loves her.
