Help with trumpet maintenance
Heyaa I recently bought my first trumpet which was a Boosey and Hawkes one from around the 1960s I just wanted to know how I should take care of it, clean it, and look after it because I have no idea what I’m doing when I do inevitably have to clean it.
So I’m just going to list a bunch of questions here that yall can answer for me (sorry if they sound stupid haha). And any advice is appreciated for looking after it 🩷
Do I take all the slides off and like run it through with water maybe soap to clean it?
How often should I oil the valves?
Do I need something like oil for the tuning slides?
If I do use water is it ok to use hot water to clean?
