I'm sure this is a dead horse beaten to death, but for all I kept searching for an answer I never found one. So I hope someone here can maybe tell me.

I was looking at lore videos and reading through past threads but I haven't found what the choice to make the warrior a son of Leoric adds to the story.

Like his name is Aidan, sure, a bit bland but not all of us can be Deckard Cains. He's the Dark Wanderer, makes sense what with the shoving a soulstone in his head. And all three protagonists of Diablo falling after succeeding in their quest is quite refreshing storytelling. He banged the maybe older than him hot/not-hot witch Adria. Why not? He could've banged the ranger, sorcerer and Gillian too for all I care. They have a daughter Leah who was conceived to host Diablo. Grimdark I like the idea.

But...why does he need to be a prince to do all this? Like wasn't he just from Tristram originally and just returned there to help out? What does being Leoric's son add? More tragedy I guess? But you don't need to be related to Leoric for the warrior's life to be tragic already. Both him and the other Diablo protagonists.
