Hey all,

I lived the dumbphone life for around a year and a half (2024-2025). I started with the 902kc. The charging port broke, so I got an F21 pro. Then I wanted stricter blocking so I went with the Unihertz Jelly star. All in all i really enjoyed having these phones.

Eventually, I realized that although it was nice to be disconnected from so much, I was kind of abstaining from some life responsibilities (or incidentally putting them onto my wife) and the inconvenience was actually affecting my life negatively. I wasn't taking any pictures, I wasn't texting people back, I had no idea what my schedule was, etc etc etc.

I went back to an Android smartphone in August 2025, and I will say I have successfully retrained the usage of my phone. I spend about 2 or 3 hours a day on my phone, which is all actual intentional get-stuff-done usage. It is strictly a tool. I don't have a browser or any fun apps, everything I do is for a reason.

Recently I've been missing the "cool" factor of my old phones. I see all these cool devices on this sub and I really want them all 😭. I think I'm simply bored and just being drawn to the novelty factor.

I'm considering a dual phone setup, but I don't really know how to implement it practically, or what problems that would solve, because I don't technically have any problems anymore. I'm wondering if anyone has any advice for me, or any testimonials of their dual phone setups? "just be bored and accept what you have" is a response I may need to hear 😅

Thanks 😊
