Speaker Pairing - Pioneer PL-518 and SX 750?
Hello all! I'm fairly new to all things stereo related, but recently got into vinyl and decided to resurrect my Dad's vintage Pioneer PL-518 TT and SX-750 receiver. I managed to fix all issues by servicing the pots and switches and both are working very well now! I'm currently just hooked up to LG speakers from an Xboom CM4590 system I had on hand, but looking for better speakers to match to the TT and receiver. I'm not a big heavy bass guy, but want it to be present. Mostly listen to folk, americana, classic rock, red dirt and 90s country...stuff with great lyrics. More interesting in clarity than heavy bass. As a modern option I was looking at the Klipsch RP 600m as current prices look pretty great, or there is a set of Pioneer CS 605 speakers with tuner, sound processor, and amp for $200 about 3 hours from me. My FIL also has a set of Kenwood JL 504s that he would give me...but I'd insist on paying him. My research indicated that the best pairings would be low watt requirement speakers with high sensitivity. I thought it best to ask for help from people with much more experience than me! I don't crank up the volume often, don't care about thumping bass, just want clear accurate sound to bring out what the vinyl was supposed to sound like when it was made and fill the room. Open to any other speaker suggestions also! I'm kind of a "buy once cry once" type, but don't want to get carried away on price if I can meet my needs under $500. I appreciate your help!
