Hi, I began medicare in January shortly before applying for soc. sec. payments, so I was required to pay 4 mos. of part B premiums in advance. But since my soc sec benefits began in March (for Feb.), part B premiums have been withheld for months that were already paid for. That 4 mos. premium amount is posted in my medicare accnt. payment history.
The live chat lady on medicare. com said I'll get refunded in the next refund cycle in which I've had part b for at least 6 months.
Sooo... what is meant by the refund cycle?
Also, she couldn't tell me whether my refund would be in one lump sum or not. I'd like to have a better idea of when and how I'll be refunded.
Should I call social security and ask there? I'm so not a phone person and have been avoiding it, tbh. Thanks for reading, and for any clarifications you can provide.
