An outside perspective. I found it interesting that in the beginning of the video the man collecting signatures claims “This isn’t to become a US state”, then you have the American representative who has spoken with the separatists saying. “They want to either partner us or stay in Canada”….

To their credit the US would keep Alberta as an incorporated territory for at least a decade while we organized the 2/3rds majority vote in congress Alberta would need to become a state. That’s why the American administration describes it as a partnership, and just like everyone else that gets in bed with Trump, they’re going to get screwed. The sad part is people like Rath seem genuinely unaware of the situation he’s created for the province through sheer incompetence dealing with Trumps people.

So this year scientists are predicting something I’ve heard called a Godzilla El Niño. That means something for us here in Alberta, something you might not realize, and that’s crazy wind! Maybe the windiest year in a century! Fall 2026-Spring 2027 more accurately.

So this is possibly going to be a great year for flying kites!

Also was curious if anyone was taking extra steps to prepare for the possible wind?

If you work cleaning windows or have any cool stories from the 2015/16 winds share it here too.

I just wanted to have some fun small talk about an interesting weather phenomenon coming our way.
