We booked a midsize car with unlimited mileage through Expedia and prepaid in full for a family vacation.

When we arrived at Routes Car Rental in Sanford, FL:

  • The office was completely unattended
  • No one answered the phone
  • We had to search for an employee
  • The staff member had a poor attitude
  • We were told we could not leave the state
  • We were limited to 50 miles per day
  • We were required to pay a $2,000 deposit

None of these restrictions were disclosed at booking.

Because of this, we were unable to use the rental and had to change our travel plans. Despite paying in full, we have not received a refund from either Routes or Expedia.

Posting this so others don’t end up in the same situation.
