Dream Air Review
2nd day and have been using it for about 14hrs now.
Comfort
Unbelievable comfortable now it's been modded. 3d printing and old 8mm vive face pad, big but does the job. Studioform head strap from PCL
Screens/lenses
Best yet. In fact I don't need anything better. Only fov could improve but I'm more than happy. Brown tint on the side of the lenses is very minimal. I sent back oled super cause was too heavy. In my photos I have an example of how bad the Brown tint was on the oled super, it was very dark. The dream air I can hardly see it even on a white screen. Not sure if this is a lottery thing or the mod I did. I did have the super extremely close that it was hurting my nose, so I guess it's a lottery. Don't know more people need to confirm. Good luck to you!
Tracking
Just had an issue with tracking jittering around at certain angles. Restart seems to of fixed it and back to rock solid. I'll keep an eye on that
Sound
I'm impressed. Like put on a beaty song on beat saber and you won't be impressed. But dam they are good for what they are.
Performance
I mentioned this yesterday. Same as PCL until you fire up sboys3 driver. I have left everything on default except custom compositor on. I'm surprised sharpening causes such a loss of fps. Anyway without sharpening on. No man's sky with pimax play steamvr 11.3ms. the exact same place etc and with sboys3 driver 7.8ms. it's no joke people it's that good!
Conclusion
Extremely happy camper. If you get one that is like mine and mod the comfort you will not regret your purchase. I have had 5k+ PCL super 50ppd and oled plus numerous others hmds. And let me tell you the future is here. Incredible hmd pimax, thank you.
