Victoria rental query: Fixed term lease ending, co-renter wants to continue
Hi, our current fixed term lease ends in July. I'm not interested in continuing it but the co-renter (we both have the name on lease agreement) wants to stay after the end of lease. Also we both pay different rental amounts (I pay 53%, got ripped off from her as I was not in the country, and got a smaller room!!). So how would this work, should I send an email to the agent and show my intention to vacate at the end of the lease, will I be able to claim my share of the bond amount? The rental share amounts are not mentioned anywhere in our lease agreements unfortunately (I know I'm dumb I should have made it clear!).
Also I'm planning to search for a new 2BR apartment in and around the city by myself, wondering if I should start searching now for July? My partner will move in September until then I'll just pay for the rent.
