okay so this one is a dark romance (so trigger warning) where this girl meets a guy at a party with her parents, fast forward a bit and her parents die in a car accident which her depressed and s*icidal. she plans to go to a really nice hotel and kill herself by jumping off, so she buys the penthouse suite and is about to jump when the same guy from the aforementioned party barged in and stops her, saying she’s not allowed to k*ll herself on his property. she basically says whatever and plans to to it somewhere else but he doesn’t like that either and he basically imposes himself in her life and the rest of the book is their lives together after he made it his sole mission to make her happy.

it’s about a group of teens consisting of the same amount of guys and girls, and they’re all different races. the fmc is black and i’m 60% sure the mmc is white. they are all pretty wealthy and they have well connected families. the main story is about how the fmc and mmc are academic rivals again after the mmc returns to school, and how their respective friend groups (the fmc and her friends and the mmc and his friends) interact. pretty sure the story is set in Ireland or at least somewhere in Europe. while i really enjoyed the story, it’s not that different from every other academic rivals story, so it may be hard to find loll. the only thing that steps out in my mind is that two people from the respective groups were brother and sister and they had these really funny arguments. don’t remember much of the plot but i know it’s for sure a slow- burn.
