20F Bleeding Nearly Everyday for 2 Years
20F and no medications.
For prior context: Back in 2024, I had rushed to the hospital for a gut infection that was extremely severe. I’d be passing a stool every minute or so, and on the way to the ED I experienced incontinence 18 times. It was so severe the GI doctors said they never seen a case like mine before. It was the first time I experienced blood in my stool in my life. They ended up doing an X-RAY and CT and found that I had a gut infection + what they call a “poop ball” aka fecal impaction.
From there on, I’d experience bloody stool several times a week. Often I’d experience abdominal pain then followed by blood stool. I self examined and I don’t see anything wrong in the rectal area. I had a colonoscopy done in October 2025, and quite frankly I’m not a huge fan of the doctor I’m seeing. She stated there were no issues she saw during the colonoscopy, and said that occasional blood during constipation is essentially normal. And made no future plans on how to fix this issue. And yet I’m still dealing with blood all the time and it’s gotten so uncomfortable for me.
Additionally, I took an OTC FOBT test and tested stool that didn’t look visibly bloody, and it did test positive for blood. So I suspect everytime I do pass a stool, regardless of the visibility it seems to be bloody. I don’t have any pain necessarily when I am passing stool, it’s more so my abdominal area.
I’ve talked to my PCP about this issue, and he knows I see GI for it, but we did do some bloodwork, and it came back with very low ferritin and low iron saturation that were in the single digits, which may suggest blood loss and inflammation of some sort.

I’m in pain, this has been happening for years, and It’s only gotten more frequent as of recently. I really wouldn’t classify this as ‘normal’
