How long after sickness bug will my boobs get a break?
17 month old started vomiting middle of the night Saturday. That lasted 24hrs then diarrhoea started round until Wednesday. Today no vomiting and no diarrhoea, but really gassy (probably verging on constipation after days of only eating tiny amounts of white carbs and whatever my boobs could give him)
All throughout these days I have not restricted access to milk, and feel like I’ve been plunged back into the newborn days. However mine has always loved the boob, and will happily refuse meals and then nurse through the night, to the point that I had to night wean a month ago, and solids had really been improving.
So now I’m trying not to spiral that this bug has undone all my hard work on getting better at solids, especially as, over the last few days, he’s eaten two bites, refused anymore then nursed every hour or two. I guess my question is do I start refusing to give him the boob, and push solids, or should I give him a few more days? In himself he seems fine, back to routine, and banging on the door to go outside.
