It seems that for once there's a general consensus on here that the new character is broken. The dissenting voices aren't even trying to deny that, they're just doing the ol' "she'll be nerfed in a couple weeks, stop overreacting" thing.
Now, call me overly cynical if you want, but if these gaming conglomerates and their live service games have taught me anything, it's that there is no such thing as overly cynical. Their only limits are how far they can push the audience before their greed backfires and starts to lose them more money than the egregiously priced bundles and mythics make them. I have two quick points to make:
There is no reality in which they didn't know Axle was broken, and would break the game. Don't care how blind or dim you think they are: they. f*ing. knew. Just reading her abilities was enough for most of us, and they were playtesting this and you expect me to believe they thought nah this is cool. Lol no. And this is clearly, unambiguously far far worse than their usual thing of releasing a strong legend to get people excited about them and increase engagement. This is way beyond that.
They have a launch bundle with the single most unique and arguably coolest intro animation in the game yet, and a straight up f*ing gooner-bait skin.
They're desperate. This was done on purpose for a quick cash injection. Of course they'll nerf her, but that's neither here nor there, at least where it concerns this topic. Maybe it IS overreacting to say that she has broken the game and is the worst example of powercreep yet. Maybe. But it's the cynical, desperate, greedy bs that's pissing me off. I just wanna enjoy the launch of a new season, but the priority was getting sweats and gooners to drop $25-$35 on a skin that would be more at home in those borderline pornographic Fast & Furious street-race montages than a scifi FPS.
Lovely.
