hi everyone! not sure if this will reach the target audience or not but i just wanted to get something of my chest for awhile.

so for context, i recently graduated from 2yrs higher nitec, and am currently bedrotting and unemployed. why? bc my jpae failed and i cant get into poly this year. of course when the day of the results came, disappointment washed over me, and the guilt of having to tell my parents about it especially my mum, who already hated the idea of me being in ITE (i came from o levels haha).

i had a cgpa of 2.9 smtg when i applied for jpae, and of course i applied for courses that are in my range (2.5-2.9) however i think i was too ambitious and chose the more popular schs like sp and nyp for my top choices. lo and behold, they didnt even throw me in a random course.

so as of rn im thinking of working pt/ft for the whole year just to gain experience and possibly build on my portfolio that is not existent yet. i plan to reapply jpae next yr with smarter choices this time, prioritising rp courses that are niche/possible to make it in.

tbh im aware my gpa is ass and its all my fault bc i didnt realise the importance of my first yr first sem gpa, like that gpa is literally the foundation of my gpa and how it will go over the next few months/sems. however ive seen ppl getting into poly with a lower gpa than mine, im talking below 2.5. so somewhere in my heart i was actually jealous they got in and i couldnt.

so thats all for now, if anyone has any advice or stories to share of ppl getting into poly with low gpas, pls feel free to share in the comments. also if anyone is in a similar boat as me and needs someone to talk to, js hit up my dms! im active on reddit nowadays and we can js talk abt anything!
