I recently applied to be a CO, but I currently have over $60,000 of unsecured debt. I have been considering filing for bankruptcy, which would eliminate my unsecured debt.

I am currently on all my payments. I have not been late on a payment in over a decade. So nothing is currently in collections, and no judgments against me, or anything like that.

My question is, if I file for bankruptcy before getting hired, would that prevent me from getting hired?
And, if I filed for bankruptcy a couple months after getting hired, could that cause me to lose my job?
