Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share a small personal win

I finally released my own app — something I’ve been thinking about for a long time but kept postponing.

It’s called Plant Doctor AI
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sych.plantdoctor
iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/plant-doctor-ai-plant-care/id6761767148

The idea is simple — you take a photo of a plant, and the app helps you understand what’s wrong and how to take care of it.

I know this space already has big competitors. I wasn’t trying to “beat” them — I just wanted to finally build something of my own and see if I can actually ship and get real users.

And… something cool happened.

I got my first subscription sale — $8.

It’s not a lot, but honestly it felt amazing.
Like, someone I don’t know actually found my app useful enough to pay for it.

Right now it’s still very early:

  • ~250 installs
  • ~80 monthly users
  • retention seems surprisingly decent (around 20% DAU/MAU some days)

Still figuring things out — ASO, retention, monetization, all of it.

Anyway, just wanted to share this moment.
If anyone here is hesitating to launch something because “the niche is crowded” — just do it.

You learn way more from shipping than from overthinking.
