I have a TLR2 responsibility at my school which I’m not enjoying and want to quit- it feels like a lot of pointless admin and joyless organising. I am planning to resign for September, but i ultimately do want a HoD role I think is likely to come up in a year or two and I would be much better suited for.

How likely is it that quitting the TLR impacts my chances of getting this? How can I mitigate this? I am well liked and respected in the school and by the head and I don’t want to burn bridges, but I also really don’t want to do the TLR anymore.

Any advice about how to approach this appreciated.
