If you are planning to take a driving test in Ireland, be aware of the new requirement regarding proof of insurance. My wife was scheduled to take the test (after waiting for months) and left it up to me to print the proof of insurance. I assumed the insurance certificate disk that is displayed in the car window along with the printed Insurance policy which clearly states all relevant information (start date, end date, policy number, car details, named drivers, etc) would be enough. It was not. The only document that the testing center accepts is the insurance certificate (the paper that the insurance disk comes on which most people throw away since legally you don’t need to have this in the car). They would not let her take the test and marked it as a fail. My wife is devastated, and has to wait another ~3 months for RSA to give her another test date. I am honestly starting to think the testing centers are just looking for any reason to fail someone to collect an additional €85 for the retest.
