Hi, as the thread specifies, I’m looking for some career advice, mostly regarding education (MBA).
Here’s my current situation: I live near Montreal, Québec, Canada. I’m 32 years old and currently work as a National Manager (in a specialized field) with technical responsibilities as well, acting both as a manager and specialist for a multinational company. I have a college degree (Accounting), a university certificate (30 credits), and a few additional courses completed in other areas. I also led professional projects that were successful and helped showcase my management and leadership skills at work.
My goal is to continue moving up on the management side, especially since I enjoy strategy and executive-level thinking. I’ve been looking into MBA programs, even though I do not have a bachelor’s degree. My objective is not only to improve my knowledge, but also to strengthen the credibility of my profile for higher-level corporate positions. I work full-time and would ideally like to find universities that accept candidates based on professional experience.
I did find some options, but the more prestigious universities do not seem to accept applicants without a bachelor’s degree. Do you think it is still worth pursuing alternative pathways? Would those MBAs still be well recognized, or would they carry less weight when companies review my résumé? Do you have any advice on that?
