5 years ago I posted this asking for feedback on an app idea. I've been chipping away at it on and off ever since, and I've never properly introduced what it became.

This isn't a promo post — Fighters-Edge is completely free, I'm not making money off it, and I'm actually net negative on it. It's a passion project, and I'd love some honest feedback and input from the community.

What it does

🔍 Match Search Engine

  • Search thousands of tournament and online matches across SF6, Tekken 8, 2XKO, GGST, and more
  • Filter by player, character, game, or tournament
  • Every match indexed with direct YouTube links + timestamps

📊 Matchup Study Tools

  • Pull up specific character matchups with video examples (e.g. Ken vs. JP in SF6)
  • Filter by player skill level or tournament type
  • Track win rates and trending matchups

👤 Player Profiles

  • Follow your favorite players and get notified when new matches drop
  • See full match history, character usage, and tournament results
  • Link your account to your own player profile

🎮 Character Pages

  • Filter by matchup, player, or tournament
  • Character-specific combo libraries

📝 Personal Tools

  • Build collections of favorite sets
  • Create and share tier lists
  • Save matches to study later

🥊 Combo Library (coming soon)

  • Browse community-submitted combos
  • Universal notation system
  • Filter by character, game, and difficulty

🏆 Tournament Database

  • Track major and local tournaments
  • Browse brackets and match results
  • See trending events

👁️ Stat Generation (beta)

📺 24/7 Stream

  • FGC Loops connects to OBS and streams FGC matches 24/7 — currently live at twitch.tv/fightersedgefgc
  • A bot drops the video link and the player's FE profile in chat as matches play
  • Players can also use it to loop their own replays during stream off-hours — the tool will only pull their videos

⚙️ Under the hood

  • A scraper pulls from YouTube replay channels and auto-adds matches into Fighters-Edge

Why I built this

I watch a lot of tournament footage, and I got tired of:

  • Digging through YouTube channels hunting for specific matchups
  • Losing track of amazing sets I wanted to study later
  • Not having one place to take notes on player tendencies
  • Struggling to find high-level footage of specific character matchups

Current stats

  • Thousands of indexed matches
  • Hundreds of pro players tracked
  • Multiple fighting games supported

🚧 Biggest hurdles

  • Data entry — I'm the sole contributor, so adding content gets rough, especially when I'm rolling out new features
  • Reach — whether people love this or hate it, I want more eyes on it and more honest feedback
  • Monetization — the core experience is staying free, but I'd like to figure out a small sustainable revenue stream eventually
  • Content/events — I have a lot of video content ideas but the scope of the project keeps blocking me mentally. Open to collabs.

The site is completely free and I'm actively adding features. We also have a Discord where you can request features or submit matches to be added.

What features would actually help your training? Genuinely want to hear it — even the harsh stuff.

tl;dr: I built a free fighting game tool to help me (and hopefully you) learn fighting games better. Take a look and help me make it better.
