Neuro Simulator vs Spinal Cord Simulator
Has anyone with chronic ON and cervical spine pain had a stimulator implanted? Advise?
I had C6/7 ACDF two years ago which has lead to chronic pain. Constant left ON symptoms. Some trigeminal pain. Cervical Neck pain. The ON is like pressure on half the skull. A spear of pain stays manageable with gabapentin and duloxetine. Have tried everything under the sun. Concussion therapy has helped the most with ON symptoms of confusion. They would like to try SCS and place it high enough to each greater occipital nerves. I have nerve pain going down one arm and hand numbness in fingers.
The thought is insurance would take a six month fight with low probability of success for the neuro stimulator. I’ve done cervical blocks and ablation. I’ve done occipital blocks and decompression surgery.
Thoughts to get out of this cycle? Anyone done the SCS stimulator?
