I might get downvoted into oblivion. But maybe there are people who relate.

I never preferred Claude for its technical wizardry. Any of these stupid chatbots can help with a recipe. I simply liked talking to it. It felt more human. It had jokes. It was introspective and clever in a way other LLMs simply weren’t.

Then came 4.7.

I’ve been switching back and forth between 4.6 and 4.7. It’s night and day. 4.6 was fun to talk to. 4.7 is like talking to a customer service agent who wants me off the phone as quickly as possible.

The reason seems clear. Anthropic is gearing for IPO. It wants enterprise contracts. And corporations don’t want clever, they want precise. They want tooling. Which is why Anthropic is shipping business tools every five minutes.

At the end of the day, style matters. Apple didn’t invent the thing. They made the coolest, most fun version of the thing. I thought, for a brief moment, that Anthropic wanted to exist in a similar lane.

I guess the butthole logo represented kissing corporate ass all along.
