Took a young pregnant cat in should I let it run couse or terminate?
I (21) was aproached by a yelling visibly pregnant cat who is probably around 1, super nice and cuddly but very underweight. I brought her to a vet who said that they feel the vesticles and that shes probably pregnant (guessed 25-30 days but wasnt sure, couldnt feel fetuses) but cant test her for diseases. Im keeping her away from my the other cat I adopted 3 years ago but she gets severe seperation anxiety and starts screaming if theres no one else in the room. Which means i need to let her sleep in my room which means my other cat and theres the possibility that she will choose under my bed to be her birthing chamber.
However im not even sure if i should let the pregnancy run its course. My understanding is that it can be very harmful to a young cats development, if she DOES have Felv she will spread it to her kittens, and there are enough cats out there who needs a home im not sure im comfortable being part in putting more out there. I am of course okay with fostering the kittens but i cant keep them and im nervous about finding enough homes or even if its morally correct to do so when my understanding is that termination and spaying is viable.
Edit: I live in the US, there is a schedule only cheap vet i can go to but am hesitant to put her through more stress and pay just for them to tell me what I already know.
