I’m trying to identify a film I watched in Spain in the 90s (it was dubbed, likely French or Italian).

From what I remember:

Main character is a young woman (early 20s, brunette, slim) who wants to become a model

She’s poor and moves to a city to try to become a model. She works part time in a hotel laundry / ironing service (there’s a scene where she impresses people by ironing a shirt very quickly-it's what gets her the job)

She befriends a wealthy older man who is blind(?) and lives alone

He is openly gay — she tries to kiss him at one point and he gently rejects her

They become friends and he becomes a mentor-ish figure. He shows her how to walk down stairs without using sight

There’s a scene where she has to quickly clean/iron his shirt after wine is spilled on it

I remember a final or symbolic scene involving modelling, possibly on the Spanish Steps in Rome (definitely walking down steps in heels, hence the importance of him teaching him how to walk down the stairs without looking at her feet).

It felt like a European arthouse/TV film from the late 80s or 90s.

Does this ring a bell for anyone or did I completely make it up?
