Storing Road Bike inside car trunk, is it a problem for mechanics/tyres?
Every morning, I don't know which sport I'll train on during the day.
It depends on working casualties.
So I always keep inside my trunk my swimming bag, and a backpack containing Run and Bike apparels. And of course the bike laying on left side with a protective velosock wrapping it.
This happens since years and years, both summer and winter (in winter, during rain/snow periods, I leave bike materials at home).
Now I have a doubt:
Do this behavior damage the bike or any part of it?
My main thought is about summer very hot days, when the car trunk can reach high temperatures for hours. But also in winter, when during the night the trunk can reach few degrees below ice temperature.
Usually, in summer I keep the tire pressure lower than the working pressure, and I inflate them right before riding. In many years, tires have never blown up.
Chain and gear lubrication seems ok.
Frame is a full carbon steel, while wheels are aluminium and tires use inner tubes.
