Was inspired to make this after I heard another person in my custom call Kurogiri mid when they saw me playing him. I've seen a few people on here say the same thing. He is NOT mid at all. He's genuinely a high A/low S tier character. He has really good damage and is a pain in the ass to catch because of his portals. He can use his gamma to engage somebody without actually having to put himself in harms way and can teleport a downed teammate to him to get a free revive off TWICE. He can also straight up just kidnap someone and force them into a 3v1 if you're with your team, or you can teleport them deep into the zone to almost guarantee that they will die if they have no mobility and won't be able to be revived because they're too far in for anyone to get their tag. Running area reduction just makes him the perfect storm camper because he can get in, pop a team heal or revive a teammate, and get back to safety in an instant without any real way to stop him. Or if you'd rather not be a rat and want to be a bit more aggressive you can make a build for that too because he has some pretty decent fixer builds to make his damage that much better. And if you still don't believe me, just check out Jack J on YouTube and you'll see how effective he can be in the right hands.
Now, let me just say that he definitely does take skill to play. I definitely can't do some of the stuff the top YAFO players do. But I don't think that he's some super hard character like so many people say. His combos, while difficult at first, are fairly simple once you practice them and hit incredibly hard. Plus his hitboxes are MASSIVE, especially the beta hitbox. Even if you miss the alpha you still can hit them with the explosion. His SA movement tech is super easy to pull off and makes him incredibly hard to track. In the final zone he's even worse because his moves become sure-hits. People say he's one of the hardest characters in the game but I'm not buying it
I genuinely can't think of a way to beat him. He can melt your HP in the blink of an eye, chase after you with ease when you try to run, and as if that wasn't enough he can also just pop his SA so that he takes even less damage. His gamma has a massive hitbox, does over 100 damage per hit, can bounce around a room, AND he has armor when throwing it so you can't even counterattack. His beta can also just go through certain abilities for some reason, like Mirios gamma, which I don't really understand. A good red Kiri is genuinely just an awful thing to fight against because his whole kit is so oppressive.
Tech Todoroki: Now, in the open a tech Todo is usually not that bad to deal with, but you put him in a building and he completely dominants. You literally can't contest him if he decides to lock himself away in a structure of some sort. He also dominants the final circles and is a pain in the ass to deal with.
Strike Hawks: I don't know why I don't see more people talking about this guy because he is broken. The second you get hit by this man you may as well kiss your ass goodbye. He has amazing movement and absurd damage and I'm shocked more people don't complain about it.
Cementoss: Crazy damage, can build cover anywhere on the map, and has an instant revive. A good Cementoss player is genuinely one of the worst things in the game to deal with because of how good his kit is.
Kurogiri: I don't care what anyone says, he is one of the best characters in the game. His damage is amazing and he is so hard to put down because of how mobile his portals make him. Not only that but he also just gets two free revives with zero effort required. Nothing more annoying than busting your ass for a kill just for them to be immediately teleported to safety.
Tech Denki: An air campers worst nightmare. His aimed alpha does over 100 damage with zero aiming required and can target multiple people at once. His traps are super annoying to deal with and his gamma gives good mobility and nice damage. It's really easy to hit someone with 200+ damage in a combo if they get too close.
I'm just posting this cause I saw another person saying he needs major buffs. As a secondary Overhaul main he does NOT need buffs, just bug fixes. If I were to buff him it would be to decrease his cooldowns a bit because they are kinda long. We don't want another assault Shiggy situation, do we? People were always putting him as a low tier character, but now everyone hates him because he was buffed to make his combos easier. It's the exact same senerio. All you need to make assault Overhaul good is a little mechanical skill and to learn his combos, which are fairly easy to pull off. I literally got his gamma>melee>alpha>alpha combo down in like five minutes and it does around 350 damage. He's also one of the harder characters to put down because he has good movement, an alpha that makes him fast and hard to track, can break out of certain attacks, and a free heal. I just don't want him to be buffed into a super broken character because he's genuinely one of my favorite people to play and I don't want him to become some braindead meta slop character.
Now let me just start off by saying that he is LOADS of fun. I love his combos, his mobility, and just his overall design. Genuinely one of my favorite characters to play now. I don't have any PURs for him so I'm restricted to just a budget build right now, but when I do get one I really want to try out acceleration on him. I also love how rewarding he feels to play. As a lower tier character he's obviously going to struggle in some senerios, but that just makes the good moments feel that much better. A few days back I won a game by finishing the last guy with a gamma into a double beta and DAMN it felt good. But even though he has these good moments you still can't ignore the bad ones. He definitely struggles in this current meta, most notably against rapid Deku. His gamma and beta come out too slow to actually land when they're just spamming ground alpha and the damage his alpha does is too insignificant to make any real difference against him. Legit the only thing you can do is run away and hope someone else deals with him. But despite that I don't really think he's a bad character like people say. He can get a quick 200 something damage with gamma>alpha and the damage from his beta isn't bad either. His movement, while worse than his strike counterpart, is still fairly decent and can make him a bit tricky to hit. I don't think any character is "bad" but I definitely don't think Hawks deserves to be called completely unplayable like I've seen many people say. I still am a baby Hawks player though so any tips with him would be appreciated.
I mean sometimes it genuinely feels like there's nothing you can do against one of these dudes except hope you get lucky. I'd rather fight people at my own level than get destroyed by these guys every match.
