Hi all, im new to fishing and need some advice. I have an ugly stick GX2 medium action rod/reel combo with 8lb line. The bait im using is a 1/4oz beetle spin as ive hear they're pretty good for catching multiple types of fish. I'm just fishing in some local ponds, usually in the middle of a park. According to what I've read they have bass, trout, bluegill and channel catfish in them. Now my issue is I cant seem to catch anything...other than some sticks and plants. Im talking not even a bite. So im curious if im just using the wrong setup or just no luck. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.
