▲ 5 r/TeslaCoils
I've been building PyTeslaCoil , a Python-native Tesla coil design calculator inspired by JavaTC. I'd love feedback from people who actually build tesla coils.
GitHub Repo https://github.com/richie-rk/PyTeslaCoil
What it handles so far:
- Secondaries: inductance, self-capacitance, resonant frequency, Q, impedance (Medhurst coefficients included)
- Primaries: flat spiral, helical, and conical geometries
- Toploads: toroid and sphere capacitance
- Tuning: coupling coefficient (k) with auto-adjust and frequency matching
- Misc: transformer sizing, spark length estimation, static/rotary gap math
Code: Pure Python, NiceGUI for the frontend, and Pydantic for the data models. It runs locally, or you can click around the hosted demo on Hugging Face Spaces.

Let me know if there's anything you'd actually use that's missing.
