Looking for, as the title says, haunting and melancholy folklore horror novels (or novellas). My main inspiration was my favourite movie of all time, Pan's Labyrinth. Also, it doesn't need to be romance at all, but I never mind a romance sub- or main plot, as long as it's well executed.

I usually read historical (gothic) fiction. Currently finishing Rebecca (it's really good).
