It was genuinely a creepy experience. I’m walking in the back aisles of the freezer section, minding my business, when every employee stocking greets me and asks me if they can help. I’m not an idiot. I can find frozen peas. Please leave me alone.
This is like when the AT&T guys kept harassing me for internet. At some point, we got so sick of it that my husband just started throwing verbal abuse at them when they kept approaching us. Haven’t seen one in a minute now.
I know it’s not the employee’s fault. I just want to be left alone. I will avoid going to any target where people greet me, just like how I have avoided entire sections of a target where the AT&T people were lurking. Haven’t bought anything in the tech section in probably two years.
My question is: are employees actually being asked to greet people intentionally now? And have any of you had actual good experience with this policy? This seems like a burden on both essential staff and shoppers.
