So, I have just taken the lead course and have been practicing clipping and belaying. I am super terrified of lead falls.
I'm not afraid to fall at all on top rope even when I took sketchy falls and almost got injured one time. I have some fear on bouldering but only because of an injury to my meniscus. But I don't fear falling on bouldering as much either. It is manageable and doesn't affect my climbing.
I do fear the free falling feeling though. I am not at all afraid of injury or height; I just don't like being suspended in the air before the rope catches me.
I don't panick or cry at lead falls. I just end up screaming or making a sound.
I also need to state i have been dealing with carpal tunnel and tendinitis in my wrists which cause me some pain so sometimes climbing does hurt; ie when belaying or after climbing at night. I am trying to get it figured out but haven't been able to just yet.
The question i have is how to overcome the free falling aspect? How to free fall without screaming or making sound when I drop?
Edit: I also want to climb outdoors and have done outdoor climbing once and really enjoyed it
