Space as a living being
ok so with the last events of flying to space and all that shit I have been thinking a lot about , u know space. And I have a theory, maybe I’m about to go into psychosis idk but hear me out.
since we realized there is space above us with moons, stars and planets, we’ve been obsessed with the idea that we’re either alone or that there’s some kind of advanced civilization out there. we made movies, like a LOT of them, and theories about pretty much everything you can think of.
but what if , and idk how to explain this without sounding insane, thinking about space literally makes me nauseous.
what if space itself is the alien we’re looking for?
like we’re so focused on aliens being some kind of “thing” a body, a creature, something physical. maybe not human, maybe not even close, but still something we can point at and say “that’s alive”.
but what if we’re just completely wrong about that?
i know an alien doesn’t have to look like ET or some insect we find on mars (that would technically be an alien too), but what if we’re still limiting the idea way too much?
what if the entire solar system, or even the universe itself is the alien?
not in the way we usually think. not something that talks or thinks like we do. but something so complex, so beyond our understanding, that we literally can’t comprehend it as “alive”.
like maybe we’re expecting communication, language, signals, but what if a “living” thing doesn’t need any of that?
and when we talk about space and time, it’s already hard for us to understand that spacetime could exist in any way other than how we experience it.
we experience time as something linear, like a straight line moving forward. but what if that’s just a limitation of being human?
what if for something else, time isn’t a line at all?
like imagine time as something physical. something you can see all at once. maybe even move through. like a stack, or layers, where “past” and “future” exist simultaneously.
so instead of remembering something, you could literally go back to it. not like time travel the way we imagine it, but more like accessing a different part of the same structure.
and if something like that exists, something that experiences all of spacetime at once, would we even recognize it as alive?
what if the universe isn’t a place but a being?
so what if the universe is kinda the same thing?
not just where we are, but what we’re inside of.
like we’re not in the universe we’re part of something that is alive in a way we can’t even begin to understand.
idk, maybe this is dumb or maybe I just stared into space too long, but it kinda messed me up thinking about it.
