Weight vs sustainability of gear.

Kind of curious peoples thoughts on the tradeoffs on weight vs sustainability of gear. When it comes to clothes, tents, sleeping bag fabrics, sleeping pads, etc... you almost always get lighter gear when because of the lighter fabrics. However, the lighter fabrics are almost always less durable. I would assume this also means it will be less durable. Things that are less durable won't last as long and maybe needed to be replaced much quicker than a more durable product.

Thoughts?

Backpacking rain shell for several days out. Arc’teryx Beta SL Hybrid, Beta LT, or Beta AR

First, I know every possible shell options in existence. You can suggest another, but these three are what I’m choosing from.

Beta SL Hybrid is probably the most comfortable. Not by a lot. I need an XL because of the fit. Maybe I could do a L but haven’t tried yet. Weighs in XL 14.2 ounces

Beta LT is in between comfort wise and durability. I still need an XL. Might be able to do L but haven’t tried. Weighs 14.25 ounces

Beta AR fits me in L. Weighs 16.5 ounces. Most durable and protection. More crinkly.

Tried soooo many jackets and Arc’teryx fits the best and has the features I want. Nice hood, hand pockets and pot zips. I don’t like the newer Arc’teryx jackets because of the name on the hood.

Which would you choose if money wasn’t an option? Looking for a do it all three season / including shoulder season jacket.
