Hi All,
I am looking for advice regarding implementing HR software in a small team (we are a medical practice) of 7 people. Is it worth it for a small team to have HR software even if its not standard?
The leave system is complex, based on hours (everyone works different hours and days, mix of part time and full time staff), and there is a TOIL system (though it is causing trouble so that is why I'm looking to streamline this).
I'm currently tracking the leave on a google sheet but the TOIL system is totally trust based but its causing arguments. It comes up a lot because the boss wants staff to cover leave by taking it back in lieu.
Anyways I would love an all in one system to have my staff information, training documents, contracts, and also track leave and TOIL.
But all the main HR software's seem to be priced towards companies of 15 employees or higher,
The one I am currently looking at is 730 EUR per year minimum 15 seats. I'm trying to convince my boss it is worth it because everything's in the one place and we have a unique complex leave system that would save a massive headache for everyone if it was streamlined. But I think they would rather me continue to track everything with separate tools.
Would really appreciate if I could get insight on this, and if this was implemented, the impact it would have. Or if not, alternatives you would suggest.
Thank you
TLDR; I’m trying to manage complex leave, TOIL, and staff records, for a team of 7 in a medical practice using different tool and locations, but it’s causing arguments and admin headaches. Most HR software seems to be geared towards bigger businesses—is it worth paying the extra to get everything in one place, or are there better alternatives for a team this small? Or should I just streamline by current separate workflows and choose better separate but free/ cheap tools
