Debating on a second opinion
36 yo with family history of Breast CA (mom grandma) my breast issues started with mastitis when I was 33- had imaging done to confirm it was mastitis and on ultrasound it showed an area and had it biopsied in 2024. Showed UDH, clustered cyst formation and apocrine metaplasia. Had clip inserted and I go for yearly MRI/mammo/ultrasound and follow with a breast doctor.
Recently went for my yearly us/mammo and notified of results of mammo with it saying “Concern for developing focal asymmetry” (the same breast I had the biopsy on). Had diagnostic mammo us and noticed a completely separate “island of tissue that is focally asymmetric”. Radiologist said she had to look through my previous mri in 2025 to find it and it’s not grown since then so considered stable at this time however it is not mentioned on any of my charts or previous mammos and said it’s to the discretion of my breast Dr on next steps. My breast Dr sent a message saying will discuss at next appt (end of may).
Feeling frustrated like I’m not getting answers to questions and then the constant waiting in between appts, my family history and now this is the second spot in the same breast. Should I seek out a second opinion?
