Applying for a job internally?

My manager is amazing but she’s basically told me my growth is limited in her department. I eventually want to go into a general accounting role at my organization and I saw a post that I was able to email the hiring manager and ask if it’s a possibility for it to be remote. She said they work remotely.

Now I have no idea what the pay range is it’s an GL accountant I role. I work in another department out of accounting and in their department they make me about $66k a year.

I don’t know how to go about this move without rubbing my current manager the wrong way or causing problems.

Awhile back she did tell me that she would be ok if I applied to other roles at my company.

Than a few months ago there was a role that opened up which was senior AR and we tried figuring out if they could combine my current role with the other job but hiring manager for that job didn’t like that idea.

Anyways, what should I go the only reason remote matters is because I’m outside of the state their accounting dept is at

So knowing it’s remote and it’s a staff accountant type role I seem interested. However, I do not want to rub anyone the wrong way. This opportunity could help me understand and learn month end close which in my current role I do not do.

Also if I even think to apply it’s policy to let my manager know. I understand this but it still feels awkward what if I tell her and I don’t even get offered an interview lol.

▲ 10 r/CPS

Yesterday I got a call from Cps out of Texas asking me about my brother in law.

They were trying to talk to him regarding a baby that was born in March of this year.

From what I got is that the cps working is going off a name?

How does this make sense? Can they call anyone with same name and or people connected to that person to try to get a hold of him?

Wouldn’t this cause a lot of trouble for people who are innocent and have no idea why cps is calling relatives and or trying to locate the person?
