Hi everyone, I’m 24 and I’ve never been pregnant. The only finding so far is a stable 3 cm paraovarian cyst.
For the past ~3/4 years I’ve had very painful ovulation with significant bleeding (not just spotting): about 3–4 days, up to ~3/4 panty liners a day, bright red at first then darker/blackish at the end. I also have very painful periods and have been diagnosed with dysmenorrhea.
During a transvaginal ultrasound, a gynecologist even commented that my periods are heavy (“you can tell by the size of your ovary”). One doctor suggested it could be “another period,” but the bleeding always stops after my usual ovulation window. Another doctor prescribed me "mulimen" and actually worked for one month.
I used the Evra patch for a period of time (two weeks), then stopped it in June due to severe symptoms such as headaches and tachycardia. After stopping it, I was completely symptom-free for about 6 months. Then the pain and ovulation bleeding gradually came back.
I restarted Evra in April 2026 because the symptoms had become too severe.
Since restarting it on day 3 of my period, I’ve also had ongoing light bleeding with some dark blood/clots.
Has anyone with endometriosis or similar conditions experienced:
- painful ovulation with bleeding
- improvement on hormonal contraception then relapse
- dysmenorrhea + ovulation pain
Any insight would really help. I'm just trying to help myself and it seems so hard.
