Wanted to share my situation and see if anyone has experienced something similar, especially fellow MITACS GRI 2026 applicants from Pakistan.
My timeline:
Application submitted: March 3, 2026
Biometrics given at VFS Global Karachi: March 6, 2026
Biometric number, enrollment date (March 6), and expiry (March 6, 2036) all correctly visible in Applicant Information section on IRCC portal
The problem:
Despite the biometric details showing correctly, the tracker kept showing "We have not received your fingerprints" for nearly two months. I submitted a web form and got this response from IRCC:
"We verified the information on file and are pleased to confirm that the biometrics were received by the responsible office."
After that, the tracker updated to: Biometrics – May 5, 2026: Completed.
So now there's a discrepancy my applicant info still shows March 6 as enrollment date, but the tracker shows May 5 as the completed date.
My questions:
Has anyone else experienced this date discrepancy on the portal?
Does the May 5 date affect processing timeline or is it purely a system-side logging date?
