Hi everyone:)) Im in the PG county area and have been fishing my local ponds and lakes but I can’t seem to catch any bass or anything over 2-3lbs. I’ve tried all types of lures and bait(mainly swim on a jig good ol wacky and some spinners) but Im starting to think its the spots. Would appreciate any recommendations or tips that helped yall catch big fish.

Hi everyone :) Ive been fishing for a year or two now but haven’t really progressed much outside of local ponds and lakes. Anyhow I was looking to get a better set up as I can’t cast too far and my current set up (random $60 abu garcia combo) feels a bit heavy get definitely gets the job done. Any recommendations for nice smooth reels? Budget is preferably anything under $200(but im open to going over since it’ll pay itself off if I keep fishing)
