Ok, so I had this weird shelf thing with bluetooth speakers. The sound was a bit bass centric, as far as I recall. The bluetooth part broke so I salvaged the speakers, purchased two bluetooth boards, hooked them up and put them in a small 3D printed enclosure. They sound ok for how cheap they were but I'm hoping I can get some help to make the mids and highs a bit more clear because they sound a bit muffled and bassy.

Each speaker says 8 ohm, 35W max - looks like 4" across
Each board says 30 W RMS (4 ohm 9-25Volts)
The two boards share a 19V 60 watt power supply
In an approx 5"x5"x5" enclosure stuffed with polyester lining.

Is it just as good as it gets? Is the 8 ohm / 4 ohm mismatch a big no-no? Will a better enclosure help? Would an additional smaller speaker help with the higher frequencies?

I'm fairly noob in this. The build has cost me about $150 in total so there's a limit to which additions would be reasonable compared to just buying a better speaker.
