My daughter (20) is facing fake id FELONY in Florida a few questions?
So my 20 year old daughter was on a road trip to Florida, she was pulled over and accidentally gave the cop her fake id not her real one. She was arrested and taken to jail. This happened at like 6pm
She told me during the phone call at like 9pm that they are not letting her bond out right away and she will have to wait to see a judge in the morning.
We live in New York and she lives with us (she commutes to college). She has never been in trouble except a fake ID charge in New Jersey 2 years ago (she was arrested taken to police department, released after a few hours and got a fine and some communtiy service).
- Could she get prison time?
- Is there any way for her to avoid a felony record like she wasn't using it for fraud why is it a felony?
- Why was she not allowed to bond out but has to wait for a judge?
- What is the expected bail ammount?
- How will she handle her case since she lives in NY will she have to fly to Florida every time? We can't afford that.
She had no idea it's a felony in FL and gave it to the officer by accident.
She is a good kid, she has good grades, a stable and loving family and is respectful and nice.
