Hi all, this is oddly specific, but, whenever I've been to France, a question I keep thinking about is what sort of braking system/setup do French multiple units use? Because they all *sound* like a loco and coaches using a brake pipe rather than say here in the UK where brakes on non-loco hauled trains use electro-pneumatic systems. There's a definite whooshing sound of a brake pipe on all French trains regardless of vintage and type. But I don't actually know the answer!
