My adult sons are going on a brother's trip in a couple of weeks. They don't want to book anything, they want adventure. But I've offered to pay for the first 2 or 3 nights as they will be jetlagged (Vancouver). I think it would make it easier on them to ease into the trip.

So I'm hoping you can recommend a hotel, or what area within Bangkok I should be looking at for them.

They are 23 and 26, and going to bars and restaurants would be handy, but also cultural visits.

I'd like somewhere quite nice, but nothing crazy. Maybe the equivalent of 150 Canadian dollars a night, or 3500 Bhat.
