Do I belong here?
Hello, I think I might be fictosexual and fictoromantic. I have only ever been attracted to fictional characters. I have been in a relationship/selfshipping with Dimitri from Fire Emblem: Three Houses for about 5 or 6 years now.
When I was looking more into selfshipping (it took me an embarrassingly long time to realize what I'm doing is selfshipping despite being chronically online) I came across this subreddit. It looks like the people here seem to have a similar experience with fictional characters, but I'm still not sure if I fit in here.
It looks like a lot of people have physical items of their fictional partner, and art of them with their partner. I don't have those, everything we do, my experiences with him, non of them are illustrated. I don't even have any memorabilia of him (unless you count the game he comes from). Do I have to have those to be a part of the community?
I do love canon Dimitri, but the version that I selfship with and is my partner is an AU version of Dimitri. Is that allowed?
At the moment those are the only questions I have. If I fit in here I will make a proper introduction on the megathread. Since I have to go to work soon, it will take me a while to respond to any comments. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
