I request an elder to explain a cultural reference to me
If any of you played Vampire the Masquerade in the 1990s and are well versed in the meta plot, maybe you can enlighten me here. I have loved playing Munchkin from Steve Jackson Games for years now, and recently got to play Munchkin Bites! If you are not familiar, Munchkin Bites is a loving send-up of The World of Darkness. We've got cards referencing werewolves, vampires, changeling, and even a random event card that makes all the players swap cards for no reason while alluding to the swap from World to Chronicles. And many monsters are delightful puns, such as the Acro-Bats and the Wight at the End of the Turnnel.
However, there is a card that for the life of me I could not figure out to what it was referring. There is a weapon card that is just Camshaft. The illustration is what appears to be a Nosferatu dressed in black and wielding exactly the title, a car part called a camshaft. I have been doing occasional internet searches, but I can't find the play on words here. It doesn't seem to be a pun, unlike most cards. Maybe it is a deep cut reference instead? Was there a paragraph in an old supplement or a specific piece of meta plot? Maybe this is an inside joke from a LARP group? Someone please explain the joke, I feel so stupid.
