I'm working on a map for a short D&D campaign that takes place in a wild west inspired setting. The problem is: I have no idea how to draw maps for deserts. I've tried but they usually end up really undetailed. I especially am unsure how to make mesas that look like mesas. Any help would be extremely appreciated, especially if you could link some references because I'm having trouble finding what I'm looking for online.
