reddit.comHello everyone, hopefully this isn't a stupid question, just looking to get some clarity on how reddit actually functions as I get confusing results when I do a quick Google, and figured the best source might be the users themselves.
For context, I have had a reddit account for a while but mostly used it to browse subreddits and not really post.
When I do post its usually for simple things related to gaming, like arranging trades, or adding new friends to complete challenging content. The reason that's important is once I am done with said post, I delete it as its no longer needed and I don't want to give the indication I still required the group or trade or anything, additionally, the posts don't get much traction as friend codes/names are listed in the post/title and people don't tend to message and instead just add you in the game.
Anyways, when recently posting to a subreddit I frequent for a group, my post gave an error code and has for a few days now. To clarify my Karma hasn't changed in almost a year as far as I am aware (don't watch it much), but it appears I may be below the threshold all of a sudden as per recent Google searches.
My question is two fold, first do Karma restrictions typically change in subreddits suddenly without any sort of announcement? Is it common? And when posting, if karma is the block, would the error not call this out directly? I mostly get an error code starting "try again later" and nothing about the reason for the bug.
As a follow up, I guess in order to raise it I just need to start posting and chatting from what I gathered reading similar post responses. If I'm misunderstanding something please let me know, and I appreciate any context you guys/gals can provide. Thanks!
